Biography

Alex Just is the iPlatform Director of Programme Development. He was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2011 and is a barrister at Old Square Chambers in London. He read Modern History and Politics at Wadham College, Oxford. Alex was President of the Oxford Union and the World Masters Debating Champion. He was awarded a Masters degree in Industrial and Labour Relations by Cornell University, where he was the Frances Perkins Fellow.

Alex supported Qatar Foundation to establish QatarDebate the first national debating organisation in the Arab World. Alex worked with the QatarDebate team to promote civic debate among young people across the Arabian Peninsula. He also set up Vocalise, the first national prison debate organisation in the UK. Alex coached the Scottish National Team to victory at the World Schools Debating Championships and has taught public speaking, debating and civic advocacy in over 30 countries.
